Let's explore his life before selling : Mims spent 18 great years in the Private Club business (The Houston Club in downtown Houston, Texas and Houston Country Club). While at The Houston Club (15 years) for a period of 3 1/2 years his only duties were to chronicle, catalog, purchase and inventory over 96 different grape varieties of wines from around the world, over 150,000 bottles in inventory. He premeditated wine auctions twice a year (spring and fall) for the membership and their guest. He has traveled to many wine distributors throughout the U.S.A. choosing the best wines for a very fastidious membership. The wine education received over that 3 1/2 years period is something that he has retained. The distributors may have changed over the years but, the grapes and the blending of grapes into great wines have endured since biblical times.
